Healthy animals, healthy people, healthy environment!

Millions of people in Africa depend on their livestock. VSF-NL supports and trains local African farmers to keep their animals healthy. Consequently, they can build a better future for themselves and their communities.

What we do in Malawi

Specifically, in Malawi, our initiatives also include training Community Animal Health Workers (CAHWs) in Malawi, assisting farmers in maintaining the health of their herds. Animals, training, equipment and animal health care enable them to produce enough food for themselves and for the market.

What we do in The Netherlands

Locally, in the Netherlands, our efforts are aimed to raise awareness about sustainable livestock and food production. Simultaneously, we lobby for decision-making in favor of small-scale farmers in Africa. We involve veterinarians and veterinary students.

Being members of the network Vétérinaires Sans Frontières International is a significant aspect of our organization. This network consists of thirteen different non-profit organizations in Europe, Canada and Australia. Together we are committed to improving the living conditions of small-scale farmers worldwide and to strengthening local initiatives in the field of animal health and welfare.
