Chairman
Secretary
Treasurer & Project Coordinator
Coordinator Internal Affairs
Coordinator External Affairs
Hi there!
I’m Esmee, 23 years old, and I’m excited to take on the role of chairman of VWB-Student! Driven by my deep passion for animals and the environment, I’m really looking forward to working with the rest of the board to help improve animal welfare worldwide. Last year, I had the pleasure of serving on the project committee, and this year I’ll be involved in organizing the Run4Rabies, among other things. In the coming months, I hope to share my enthusiasm for VWB with many more students and introduce them to this wonderful organization and everything we’re working toward together.
Hey,
My name is Marin Mattelaer. I’m 19 years old and currently in my second year of the bachelor’s program in Veterinary Medicine. I’ve had a very international upbringing since childhood, which is why I love to travel and have a passion for animals. I’ve always wanted to make a difference in the well-being of people and animals in developing countries, and I hope to help those in less fortunate circumstances through VWB-Student. Last year, I was also active on the project committee, organizing fundraising campaigns for our projects in Malawi and raising awareness of VWB among future veterinarians in the Netherlands. As secretary, I manage the email, create the board profile cards, and ensure that donated supplies are distributed to student internships abroad.
Hi all!
My name is Lieke, I’m 20 years old, and I’m currently in my second year of the bachelor’s program in Veterinary Medicine. After serving on the project committee last year, I’ll be taking on the roles of treasurer and project coordinator this year. I’m looking forward to making this a great year, getting to know lots of new people, and helping out with the projects!
Hi!
My name is Kirsten, I’m 21 years old, and I’m in my third year of the bachelor’s program in Veterinary Medicine. I really love traveling and animals, which is why VWB-Student really appealed to me. That’s why, two years ago, I got involved with the education committee, where I’ve already had the chance to give many fun guest lectures. This year, I’ll be serving as the coordinator internal affairs, which involves managing the Instagram account and the website, among other things. I’ll also be helping to organize the Run4Rabies this year. I’m really looking forward to it and can’t wait to see what this year has in store!
Hi everyone,
I’m Nadia, 21 years old, and a third-year undergraduate student in veterinary medicine. Ever since I was a child, I’ve wanted to become a veterinarian and help animals, and I also love to travel. That’s why I’m really looking forward to helping animals next year in countries where they have it a little tougher than we do. Last year, I was active on the education committee, where I got to help organize all kinds of guest lectures. I’m thrilled to be taking on this committee this year! As coordinator external affairs, I’ll mainly be working on the internship handbook and maintaining contact with all external partners. If you’re looking for a great internship, you’ve come to the right place. I’m really excited about the coming year and look forward to finding it outside the lines.
