Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Netherlands takes great care to ensure the security and careful processing of your personal data. We adhere to the conditions set in the European privacy law, better known as the “General Data Protection Regulation” (GDPR). For what purpose does Vets Without Borders process your data?
Vétérinaires Sans Frontières-NL processes your (personal) data for the following purposes:

  • Sending service related messages
  • Fundraising
  • Processing the payment when you make a donation
  • Releasing Capita Selecta points (for Veterinary Medicine students)
  • Information is collected and used for Vaccinate 4 Africa to liaise with participating practices, send promotional materials, and alert pet owners of practices participation. 

What data do we collect?
Personal data
When someone signs up to be a donor to Vétérinaires Sans Frontières-NL, at least the following personal data are required to be passed on:

  • Name
  • E-mail address
  • Headquarters address
  • Account number (IBAN)

This information is used for our donor administration and for collecting the donation.
In addition, there is an option to be informed about Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Netherlands by means of a digital newsletter. In that case, the above data will also be used for sending the newsletter.

Registration activities
When someone attends an activity organized by Vétérinaires Sans Frontières-NL, again (some of) the above information is collected. Name and initials, starting year of veterinary studies, date of birth and college card number are noted. This is firstly for the overview of the number of donors who came and secondly for awarding Capita Selecta points. These are points that Veterinary Medicine students can accumulate to obtain a certificate, showing that he/she has been active outside the study.

For the Vaccinate 4 Africa campaign, the following data is collected: practice name, contact person, email address, telephone number, practice address, number of branches.

Who can access your data?
Vétérinaires Sans Frontières
Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Netherlands has access to all personal data entered to keep a good overview of the donors, to execute collections, to approach people for committees, to register people for activities, and to send service-related messages.

Committees
Committees under Vétérinaires Sans Frontières may have access to necessary data upon request and with the approval of Vétérinaires Sans Frontières.

Mailchimp
Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Netherlands uses “Mailchimp” to send the newsletter and other emails. In addition, Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Netherlands imports the e-mail addresses in Mailchimp to keep the data up-to-date.

Website
Occasionally photos of activities are posted on the website of Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Netherlands. These photos can be viewed by anyone who visits the site. If you have any objections about a posted photo, please contact coordinator@dierenartsenzondergrenzen.nl. We take the protection of your data very seriously. Our site is hosted at bHosted and uses a reliable SSL certificate from Let’s encrypt.

Google Analytics & Google
This website uses Google Analytics. This programme provides important statistics about numbers of visitors, pages visited, traffic sources and other essential information that allows us to continuously improve this website for users. These statistics are anonymous and cannot be traced back to a specific person or user. No use is made of behavioural targeting that shows you special content based on your click behaviour; your surfing behaviour remains completely anonymous. Data from contact forms are never processed or stored in Analytics.

Google Analytics uses a cookie, which is a small file stored on your computer. We have set up Google Analytics in accordance with privacy legislation, so no prior user consent is required.

Daarnaast maakt Dierenartsen Zonder Grenzen gebruik van Google (G-mail) om e-mails te versturen.

Social media
Vétérinaires Sans Frontières uses the following social media: Facebook, Instagram and Linked-In. These are used to promote activities and for other news. All facebook users can be invited to events. Participation in these media is entirely voluntary.

Third party websites
www.dierenartsenzondergrenzen.nl may contain links to third-party websites, which may have different privacy policies. We are not responsible for the activities and practices that take place on these websites. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of those sites.

Bewaren gegevens na uitschrijving
When a donor unsubscribes, all data from the former donor will be kept, unless the former donor objects. We can use this information to invite the former donor to the activities of Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Netherlands in the future.

What are your rights?
Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Netherlands only processes your personal data on the basis of your permission. By actively agreeing to the processing of personal data when registering, you consent to the processing of your personal data by Vétérinaires Sans Frontières Netherlands as described in this privacy statement. Of course, you can always withdraw your consent. We will then delete your data.

Viewing your data

Right to data transfer
You have the right to portability of your personal data. We may make your personal data available for you to reuse.
