As part of VSF International, Vétérinaires Sans Frontières is a strong proponent of the principle of One Health. This principle assumes that the optimization of welfare and health conditions must be done in such a way that the interrelationship between humans, animals and the environment are recognized and taken into account. Even in the Global South, this principle is not yet applied enough, while its implementation has proven benefits for humans, animals and the environment and even contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
