For many African families, a goat is an important animal. The animals give milk to drink and manure to make farmland fertile. Goats can give birth to lambs annually. The rapid expansion of the herd in the community makes more food available. The sale of goats frees up money for education, medical care and clothing.
In a lot of areas in Malawi they have small scale livestock which is very important for them because it provides food and income.
